Description
Plomari Ouzo, with its characteristic taste and special aroma, contains soft water from the sources of the river Seduda, anise from Lisvori, fennel from North Evia, star anise, cinnamon, nutmeg, nutmeg, extracts of Chios mastic, various other herbs of the Lesbian land and salt from the salt pans of Kalloni Lesvos. It is based on grain distillate and is flavoured through the distillation process in copper stills (amphibians) with herbs and fruits, with aniseed predominating, which gives it its characteristic flavour. This aniseed-flavoured spirit was so loved by Greeks and foreigners alike that it became known as the national drink of our country. Today, its name and origin are protected by the European Union, which means that it cannot be produced anywhere else but in Greece.
